SolidCraft Update Failed?
Upgrade Manually from 0.11.0–0.14.0

A documented repository migration left the in-app updater in SolidCraft 0.11.0 through 0.14.0 unable to install newer releases. The official workaround is a one-time manual update.

Applies toSolidCraft 0.11.0–0.14.0 desktop builds using the in-app updater. This does not describe every update error.
WHY

Why does the updater fail?

These versions only accept packages from the project's former GitHub address. After the repository moved to tangency-labs/solidcraft, later releases used the new address, which the older updater could not use to fetch packages. It could show an update, but could not install it. See the official update and privacy guide.

FIX

How do you update once?

  1. Save your work and close SolidCraft. Keep a separate backup of important designs.
  2. Open the official latest release and choose version 0.15.0 or later for your operating system and CPU.
  3. Install it over the existing copy using the same installation method. Follow the release notes and do not mix package types.
  4. Open SolidCraft, confirm the version, and test a copy of an existing design.
  5. After crossing to 0.15.0 or later, the official guide says the in-app updater works again.
NOTE

Which installs are unaffected?

This specific updater issue does not affect Flatpak, Snap, WinGet, .deb, or .rpm installations, which use their package managers. Update those through the same manager. Browser app updates follow the web app and are not this desktop updater case.

CHECK THE MATCH

Seeing a different error?

Confirm your version and installation type first. For another error, use the current official update instructions rather than assuming the repository migration is the cause.
